in terms of vocal processing, I was very much impressed with Melodyne: 
http://www.celemony.com/ Beyond simple auto-pitch-tuning, it is the most 
musical software tool I have used so far. It gives you great possibilities 
for manipulating vocals/vocal parts in terms of pitch and time.
It's not a full bells-and-whistles effect box, but very musical and very 
useful for manipulating vocals in interesting ways.
