As for Crossfade Loop Synth I can tell that it is as if having three
instances of Augustus Loop all in overdub mode and set to different
pitch shift (which of course implements different loop lengths) and
some set to reverse mode as well.

One Augustus Loop is similar to tape delay looping but with extra
goodies like "playing" the loop's pitch from MIDI Notes (keyboard,
EWI, MIDI guitar etc) plus the filters with cut-off and LFO sync
option.
