That type of investment should not be based only on the product in
target but on the work you need the gear for. Personally I do
professional work and if gear mess up I lose money. So in some
purchasing situations I actually gain money by not buying the cheapest
products. But on the other hand I have very little money at hand so
there is always a balance. You have to look into your own user
scenario to calculate your own cost-benefit balance for investment.

8 GB is the what the MBP takes. If you plan on using it for work that
needs more RAM it is wise to buy another machine.

ProbabIy. But personally would not take a chance on USB for audio
streaming if I had a choice.
