Guitar sound is a personal thing that depends on many variable which makes it hard to say that something is generally "better" or "worse" than something else. What you could say though is wether you think a specific product is better or less good for a particular type of sound; like for example "snappy funk chords sound", "warm jazz sound" or "metal sound". When I say "on the same level" I mean two things; first that if you compare for example the Eleven Rack with the plugin Eleven you have to make sure the plugin version is hosted in a system going through an audio interface of the same quality as the Rack and finally that when comparing the algorithms I'm looking only at stuff that will sound as good as the AD/DA gear allows (ruling out products like 16 bit iPhone guitar amp simulators etc). In my book everything above a certain level is good enough, the more important point is how well certain products suite specific musical needs. Per
