Yes, Android has disqualified itself for audio
application for quite
some time now.
Myself I would never imagine an iPad would be able to run what I think
makes a decent performance rig. They simply aren't powerful enough to
take over the job from a physical pedalboard - but a modern laptop is.
This is why we see hybrid devices like this iPB10 that chimes in as a
DSP extension for the iPad, so the iPad can focus what it is designed
for; easy and fast data manipulation.
I'm holding my breath though for today's Apple convention. Maybe a
stronger iPad 3 will be presented to the public there? And what new
iOS applications? Only a few hours until we'll know...
