Well, since Mainstage/Logic was mentioned I can answer that question for this package: There is one FM synth included. You can get good Detroit Techno sounds (the classic DX11 I think) and most typical fm synthesis sounds. In total Logic/Mainstage has 12 virtual instruments: one modeling, one FM, one sampler, one hybrid, one vocoder and the rest subtractive synthesis based. I have many non-Logic synths but I usually prefer to use the Logic/Mainstage instruments because both Logic and Mainstge offer a global micro tonal tuning (with a huge library). If for example setting a Chines Lu tuning based on C# this will affect any synth you upen up. To me such speeding up of the work-flow means a lot, as I'm often trying out many ideas and kind of lose interest if I have to open up a synths's GUI and tune it for every new sound patch I'm trying out.
