Re: Mobius Mystery part 2

It's also typical behaviour for when the Note-Off doesn't reach
the Echoloop.

It seems that Ableton suppresses Note-Off on some (all?) routings.

When using any third-party plugin hosted in Live there are three ways
external MIDI control surface gear can talk to the plugin:

1) As MIDI Track Input through Live (activate/deactivate in Live's
Preferences, MIDI/Sync tab).
2) As Remote control through Live (activate/deactivate in Live's
Preferences, MIDI/Sync tab).
3) Third-party plugin set to listen directly to the system's MIDI Port.

The issue with the looper killing itself on Record is typical when
more than one of the above control systems are active (as Jeff
explained).

I have tried all three for looper plugins and with Mobius I stick to
"3". Not because it is better but because it makes my jumping between
many alternative host applications very smooth. "1" is also easy once
you have set the MIDI bindings in Mobius. In order to make "2" work
with Mobius one needs to first go into Mobius and chose which
parameters the plugin shall expose to the host and then use Ableton's
internal system (VST or AU protocol) to set up the mapping in Live.
The "Abes" recommend this method.

Wow that's weird, just this evening I have been wrestling with the exact
same behavior, but with Echoloop within Live. All Echoloop functions are
mapped and respond fine, but pressing the LG controller button bound to
Echoloop's Record function results in a short bit of Record time, followed
by a reset. So it seems to interpret the NoteOn as a long press.

Had it working some time back - encountered this problem then as well, but
somehow solved it, and now cannot recall the solution - gah !

Okay, so anyone thinks I should take this to the Mobius forums that's
cool, but....

So thanks to Jeff's advice I got Mobius running in live and even
managed to configure the layout of the FCB1010 for most functions.
Every command I programmed worked EXCEPT, when I press the button
bound to the record function, it goes into record for 4 counts and
then stops. I've confirmed that the pedal is sending Note on and off
with a value of 01.

Apologies if I'm missing the obvious, it certainly wouldn't be the
first time. I hope to get this figured out before I get annoying with
these questions.

Any pointers?

Thanks,

Kevin
