Re: Mobius headache: finding where are my ui.xml and mobius.xml files

Yes Jeff,

I'm using the c:\Program Files as a pre-64 bit windows pc.

I have the feeling that the problem is not there, I think the issue is in PC A.
I think that the ui.xml and mobius.xml I find in the c:\Program Files (x86) are not the ones that Mobius is using.

I suspect that Mobius is picking the ui and mobius files from another location.
Is there any way to check about it ?

For PC B, you put the files in c:\Program Files\Mobius 2 without the (x86)?  That should work, were there any other files in that directory?

Wow !

still so happy to know about you're back and well that I forgot to bring the original topic on...
So, here we go:

PC "A":
I have Mobius2.dll installed in my plugin folder. The Vst opens just fine, all my setup is there, solid and in full functionality.
My Mobius installation is indeed in c:\Program Files (x86)\Mobius 2
When I open the stand alone application from that folder it opens the same exact configuration I get when I open the Vst version.
All good.

PC "B":
Fresh install of Mobius, it is a 32 bit pc where I do some testing before the real new one arrives.
I replace the ui.xml and mobius.xml with the ones I've copied from PC "A" from c:\Program Files (x86)\Mobius 2
I would expect the PC "B" to show the setup of PC "A".
No, it doesn't.

terrrrible headache...

any help ?
thank you !
Luca

Assuming your new machine is 64 bit, the installation should be in:

Hi everyone, yes I’ve been away.  No, not a North Korean prison, but close.   I know everyone is clamoring for a 64-bit Mobius plugin, slow progress is being made.

Regards,
Jeff

Hi dear Ld people,

I'm preparing myself for a new fresh installation of my pc system in which I've a happy Mobius installation, working fine for many years.
As per common practice I've always considered that my "sacred to save" files to be placed in the typical Mobius installation folder: C:\Program Files\Mobius 2

Doing a new installation on a fresh pc I've been embarrassed at most to see that the ui.xml and mobius.xml files I've transferred are not the ones that reflect the Mobius settings I have in the pc where I picked them from.

Is it possible that Mobius is saving the ui.xml and mobius.xml files in a different folder than the typical one ?
How can I find which one is it ?

I'm blocked, and really surprised...

thank you !
Luca
