I usaully sync the Drum machine (SR-16) to the Jamman for writing. By manually switching loops and drum patterns/fills, while playing guitar overtop, I've been able to record a final mix of a complete tune - ( intro, verses, chorus, bridge, solo section, ending, even a coda sometimes) I have found this technique quite useful for retaining a live sound because there always one part that is played live alongside of a loop, an easy way to get variation on a melody or to voice harmony different and lastly to choose different drum patterns/fills like what a real drummer would do.
