Sounds great!  I just got my echoplex two weeks ago and haven't started
using real drums yet.  I am still working on connecting my Alesis SR16 to 
it
and keeping the time synced.  Has anyone used the new Echoplex on this 
list?
How about with an Alesis SR16.  I tried it briefly last night using the 
SR16
as the timekeeper but had problems so I am digging out the manual tonight 
to
hopefully solve this problem.

I play a little tabla.  (OK ... they're full-scale, but I don't play them a
lot :).

When I am *working* on my tabla (you know, studying, memorizing patterns,
etc), I use an EDP as a timekeeper.  I play the basic tal into the EDP then
practice on top of it.  Works great!
