EDP Hiss

Hey EDP gurus

I've been experiencing some significant hiss during loop playback.  I've 
tried swapping memory around - no success.  The hiss is present even 
when I record a loop with the input level at minimum.  The hiss is not 
present while recording, but it appears immediately after the second 
press of RECORD to start loop playback.  The hiss goes away when I set 
the MIX to dir.  It gets louder as I more the MIX to loop.

My EDP has always been hissy - I don't know if it's gotten worse lately 
or if I'm more tuned into it.  I guess this could be normal behavior for 
the EDP, but I can't imagine this much noise being acceptable to the 
looping community.

Any ideas?
