frequency of digests

OK, so the server sends a digest when the messages reach a certain 
level - we've had 6 digests today - surely this is defeating the 
object a little? Could I make a plea to whoever runs this to "up" the 
level a bit, or even better, to send just the one digest per day? I 
get upwards of 200 emails a day & any way of reducing this would be 
much appreciated - I can't see that it would inconvenience anyone?
