DD20 or DL-4

I want to give a looper as a birthday present to a relative.  He plays 
bass and keyboards.  He recently started playing electric guitar again 
after a break of several years.  I don't have a lot of money to spend.  
Both the DL-4 and the Boss DD-20 are $200 at the corner store. That's as 
much as I can spend right now.  What should I give him?
