awesome, yeah i downloaded a bunch of those
plugs tonight. i really like a large majority of what i found on that
site.
would love to hear some of your songs.
did you modify your setting on your thinkpad? i ended up following some
instructions someone posted about optimization in the past.
seems to do the trick.
KH: I made some minor modifications, probably
some of the same ones you found on the web, and I have a program and makes
some changes to msconfig that keep a few things from running in the background
and in the system tray. However, I've found that the ThinkPad T60p is so damn
efficient that I can run it with no modifications and my VST looping/effect
system runs seemlessly. I can't even get the thing to get to 50% processor
utilization, and I have 2gig of RAM that is probably barely utilized as well.
It's nice to have that sort of memory/processing headroom.
i never use the fingerprint reader as it makes me very
paranoid!
ha!
KH: I love it... you can setup it up so that you
can over-ride it with the standard password entry. Being able to swip my
finger over the reader to login is is ver convenient...anything to avoid
typing.
spending money online is always a weird thing. especially on plugins as
you never touch the cash or actually touch the device you just paid for. i
sound like i am 85.
KH: I got over that fairly quick. Now I am
probably way too liberal in my internet purchases. I'll buy stuff from just
about any online retailer...yikes! haven't been burned yet though. I
won't buy guitars over the internet though...I have to play them
first.

Addiction: I
just calculated that I've spent approximatley $1600 on VST
effects in the
last year and a half. What the.....??? Have I been blacking
out and using my Visa card? I lost track of that. But I
believe I'd have to
spend $6000 at least on hardware effects
to match what I can do with my
notebook
system.
