I say a poll would be pretty biased, since it's seems obvious that many laptop looper users just don't follow the simple rules related to using computers for audio. - Use a computer with hardware components that are documented to work well with audio applications. This applies not only to choice of audio interface but also to the combination of motherboard, video memory and RAM. - Use the operating system version that works well in this regard. I.e. do not take all those instant upgrades that Microsoft offers. - Do not install other applications. Especially not internet related things like virus protection software. - If needed you can disable network functions, CD and DVD players in the hardware profile. I have seen some of these "floor-based looper" posts flash by and been amazed by all the problems people have with computers. Can't think of another explanation for that then the above mentioned. The simple single CPU Centrino I have been using for looping for more than two years now has only crashed twice. That happened due to overheating, since its box is incorrectly constructed with the cooling fan outburst down under. The fox for that is to put the laptop on something the lifts its bottom up a bit from the surface so the air can blow out properly.
