Re: so long -- and further off topic.

Howdy,

Co-ops are great. Our dairy farm was involved in them bak in the 60s/70s. Unfortunately, now-a-days many people of a certain stripe will call it "socialism", or worse, "communism". How the times have changed

Yes, I'm with you rev.. I think a change is in the air but I'm going to shut up about it on this list now. Good to have a little "aside" now and then..

And, also worker-owned businesses and companies and keeping as much money as possible in the local economy and local credit unions and local smaller banks, etc We have a sizable number of these types of things here in Portlandia. There will likely be more to come. Along with a resurgence in more union organizing.

BTW, my previously saying "got any 'better' ideas" was meant to be sarcasm towards the current Kapitalist "system" we are all under the thumb of.
But, perhaps you previously understood what I was really meaning by saying it that way? :-) (and yes, I just like to spell Capitalism with a "K" just for silly fun. :-) )

Here's abetter idea. Co-operatives. Capitalism where the people who work for the business share the profits. Goodbye massive inflated wages for the few at the top and hello fairness.
I reckon it's a better system - and it works. You are more likely to do a better job with more enthusiasm and commitment when you know you're going to benefit.

Just my tuppence worth
