Not doubting you, just not sure what you mean! Not knowing what exactly Andy meant, but I can chime in here that I at least know that you can't send MIDI into the Return Tracks. And if you want to send MIDI into an Audio Track you need to go through a loopback trick (OS X or an add-on app if running Windows). As far as MIDI tracks go I see no restrictions in routing. So as long as you open plugins on a MIDI track you route MIDI to them. You don't always need to route MIDI into a plugin (or mixer part) in Live because Live also has its own MIDI control system with a fast MIDI Learn function for externally incoming MIDI data. But isn't that a bit over the top in this discussion answering a person that wants to replace a Roland looping pedal with Ableton Live? There's no such nifty MIDI routing at all on those pedals! :-) Greetings from Sweden Per Boysen www.perboysen.com http://www.youtube.com/perboysen
