Goddammit Sylvan you are exactly right - ha ! Indeed I am talking about the soft step. In fact I've been considering a 12 step as an alternative, just fell low on my priority list lately. Apologies for misleading our dear readers :)

As for contradiction, no, there is really none. Just because something is not expressly supported or forbidden in a manual, does not mean something is possible or impossible. Manuals are lamentably incomplete if they exist at all these days, the tools complex, and on this list more than most places we all push past the stated limits to see what we can find there :).

Reading this again, it strikes me that you're probably talking about the softstep rather than the 12 step...

The softstep seems like a generally disliked controller, whereas the 12 step is another beast entirely.
