Zoe Keating works with Live and SooperLooper using MIDI scenes, so she avoids to dancing on the buttons of the footpedal. Looks into the archive and you'll find some posts from Zoe about her looping approach. In these days, I'm making some tests about the same techcnic applied to Mobius running inside Bidule and i've got some interesting results. I don't use Live for looping...maybe in the future when Mobius will be available for Mac. But what you're talking about is definitively possible (and useful).
