I know this sounds really backwards, but I haven't updated to v6 yet. I'm 
content with v5.xx The new FW is supposed to have some improved looping 
capabilities over the earlier version, but I haven't really looked into 
it. I think it is designed for the loop-a-rhythm-track-and-solo-over-it 
school of loopage.　　

Guitar is just one of the sound sources that I want to loop and I'm still 
working on getting to know my dedicated loopers. I like mangling lots of 
minimal loops through different outboard filters and I'm not particularly 
interested in "soloing" over anything.

But as far as getting great sounds to work with, the AxeFx II is a truly 
amazing piece of gear. Thanks to Fractal Audio, I was able to let go of a 
lot of expensive tube amps--it more than paid for itself.
